SBR Precision Ammunition SOCOM Powder: While there is no doubt there is a continued powder shortage, SBR has brought back limited quantities of their SBR-SOCOM powder. Perfect for M33 ball and M17 tracer, the SOCOM powder is well suited for the reloader looking to recreate military ammunition loads. While not readily available, it’s out there for everyone to find. There is little guesswork with the incorporated load data. However, loads for subsonic 300 BLK is also able to be replicated.
Cutting Edge Bullets Raptor Subsonic Projectiles: Useful for hunting and defense, Cutting Edge has brought out 300 BLK Raptor projectiles. These bullets are a single piece construction that breaks apart into 5 different pieces. Four petals expand and break off when hitting soft targets; replicated in ballistics gel. While their Personal Home Defense ammunition has featured a handgun projectile in a similar Raptor line, rifle calibers are quickly becoming available. 300 BO in 190 grain is the perfect addition for subsonic hunting and self-defense loads.
X-Treme Bullets .44-240 HP X-DEF: Hollow point ammunition is in high demand and Z-Treme Bullets is continuing to fill the gap. Released for 2024, their 44 caliber 240 grain hollow point fits the niche for 44 magnum/special reloaders. Perfect for defensive ammunition, X-Treme is known for their overall quality and cost-effective manufacturing. This is one to bookmark and save for the upcoming round of bulk projectile orders. 44 is looking for future release sometime in 2024.
Barnes VOR-TX RR: Available is both loaded ammunition and standalone projectiles, the VOR-TX RR fits the needs of shooters requiring less recoil or faster follow-up shots. RR stands for ‘reduced recoil’ with an all-copper projectile. Through testing and evaluation, expansion on the RR line mimics the standard line of VOR-TX ammunition. Petal expansion and flaring reaches full potential without breaking apart, greatly increasing the potential wound channel for swiftly taking game. RR ammunition is projected to be released sometime in quarter 2 of 2024.
